Everything you need to know about NDIS plan management

Learn how NDIS plan management works, why it might be the right fit for you, and how Isle of Hope can support you every step of the way.

Once your NDIS funding is approved, you can choose to let the NDIA manage your plan, take it on yourself, or work with a plan manager. Over recent years more participants have found that plan management strikes the right balance between flexibility and peace of mind.

What Plan Management Looks Like

When you’re plan managed, Isle of Hope steps in as your financial partner. We receive your approved funds, pay your support providers, and track every dollar on your behalf. You’ll get clear, regular statements that show exactly how your budget is being spent—no surprises, no hidden fees.

Why Plan Management Could Be Right for You

Tackling NDIS paperwork, invoices and claim forms can quickly become a full-time job. With plan management, you hand over the admin to us and reclaim that time for yourself—whether that’s focusing on therapy goals, spending more moments with family, or simply enjoying life.

Exploring Registered and Unregistered Providers

Agency‑managed plans limit you to registered NDIS providers. Plan management frees you to choose from both registered and unregistered supports—so you can continue working with a trusted local therapist or community group, even if they’re not on the NDIS register. All providers must still follow NDIS rules, so your safety and quality of service are never compromised.

Keeping Your NDIS Funds on Track

Budgeting isn’t everyone’s strength. Isle of Hope keeps your finances organized, pays invoices on time, and flags any underspend or overspend early. Our clear statements help you see opportunities to bring in new supports or adjust your plan so it’s always aligned with your goals.

Understanding the Costs

You won’t pay anything extra out of pocket. The NDIS sets aside separate funding for plan management—covering establishment and monthly administration fees—so you get quality support without dipping into your core funding for life‑changing services.

Building Your Independence with Plan Management

Many of the people we support find that, over time, they gain confidence in budgeting and using the NDIS price guide. If you ever want to learn more about how your plan works—and maybe move toward self‑management down the track—we’ll teach you everything you need, at your own pace.

Freedom to Change Your Plan Management Style

You’re never locked in. If you decide plan management isn’t quite right, you can switch to agency or self‑management at any time (just watch the notice period in your service agreement). Likewise, if you’re agency or self‑managed now and curious about plan management, a simple request to your planner or LAC can start the process.

Making the Switch to Plan Management

If you’d like Isle of Hope to take the reins, ask for plan management in your next planning or review meeting. If that’s some time away, a “light touch” review can be arranged sooner. Once your plan is updated, just let us know and we’ll handle the rest.

Finding Your Perfect Plan Manager

Choosing someone to manage your funds is deeply personal. You might ask your support coordinator, LAC or friends for recommendations. Look for a provider who listens, explains clearly and always has your best interests at heart.
